Counter Strike 2: General manager THREAT officially left Ninjas in Pyjamas (NIP)..

Chinese-Swedish esports powerhouse Ninjas in Pyjamas (NIP), which was owned by Mario Ho, son of the late Macau casino tycoon Stanley Ho, announced on Tuesday via the club's official X (Twitter) account that THREAT, General Manager of their Counter Strike 2 (CS2) division, has officially left the team.

According to Ninjas in Pyjamas (NIP)'s official statement, the club is very grateful for THREAT's contributions to NIP, both as a coach and, more recently, as a behind-the-scenes planner.

This includes conceiving and developing the plans to establish their women's team Impact, their youth academy team Young Ninjas, and SVEA, which has greatly ensured that NIP would have continuous flow of talent.

Following the announcement of his departure, THREAT wrote via his official social media account: “Earlier this year, I made a difficult decision to leave NIP. The main reason was that I didn’t want to do performance-related job. This was very important to me.”

This news marks the end of THREAT’s long-standing partnership with NIP. THREAT had held various positions with the Counter Strike 2 (CS2) club intermittently since 2016.

The 38-year-old Swede initially joined the team as head coach, holding the position from 2016 to 2018 and from 2020 to 2021, winning five major trophies during his two tenures, including the 2016 and 2017 Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) Oakland titles.

The experienced Swede moved behind the scenes in late 2021, briefly leaving in 2022 before finally becoming the General Manager of their CS division in 2023.

Currently, THREAT has not yet made any plans for his future. He stated that he is still conducting multifaceted evaluations and will wait and see, and does not rule out developing in areas outside of esports.
