Mancini officially announced his departure from Al Sadd and is expected to return to coach the Italian national team.

Italian manager Roberto Mancini announced on Saturday that he is parting ways with Qatar's Al Sadd club, effective immediately.

Roberto Mancini's term at Al Sadd was originally scheduled to end in 2028, leading to widespread speculation that he would return to coach the Italian national team. Upon leaving, Mancini recorded a video message to bid farewell to the entire Al Sadd team: "Hello everyone. I recorded this video to thank all the Al Sadd fans. Thank you for your full support this season; your help was key to our comeback and eventual victory."

"Thank you to the club and the director for helping me integrate into the team. Thank you to all my outstanding players for everything you have done on and off the pitch. Thank you to all the club staff, support staff, and medical team. Thank you all, you will always be in my heart."

The 61-year-old Mancini has managed numerous clubs, including Fiorentina, Lazio, Inter Milan, Manchester City, Galatasaray, and Zenit Saint Petersburg, leading them to three Serie A titles, four Coppa Italia titles, two Italian Super Cup titles, one Premier League title, one FA Cup title, one Community Shield title, and one Turkish Cup title. He has also served as the head coach of the Italian and Saudi Arabian national teams, leading the Azzurri to victory in the 2021 European Championship.

In November 2025, Mancini officially took over as manager of Al Sadd FC in Qatar. During his tenure, he achieved a record of 17 wins, 1 draw, and 7 losses, ultimately winning the 2025/26 Qatar Stars League title.
