Sima Suso has officially joined Augsburg, signing a contract until June 2031.

FC Augsburg officially announced the signing of young defender Sima Suso. The 21-year-old German defensive starlet joined from Fortuna Düsseldorf and signed a long-term contract until June 30, 2031. In the 2025/26 season, Suso will represent Düsseldorf in the 2. Bundesliga, making 24 appearances and scoring one goal. He has also been selected four times for the German U20 national team, gaining valuable experience at the youth level.  

Sima Suso, a product of Bayer Leverkusen's youth academy, is a versatile player who is left-footed. He can play in multiple positions, including defensive midfielder, central midfielder, left center-back, left back, and left wing-back. His versatility is a major advantage.  

Augsburg's sporting director, Benny Weber, said: "Sima Suso is a young player with great potential. He has a strong ability to adapt to different positions, and despite his young age, he has already accumulated a lot of experience in professional competitions. His ability to stay in the 2. Bundesliga for a long time last season also shows that he has considerable strength. We are very pleased that he has finally decided to join Augsburg."  

After signing the contract, Sima Suso said, "I am very happy to be a member of Augsburg. I believe that this place will provide a good environment for my growth and give me the opportunity to continue to improve my abilities and achieve goals with the team. I am already looking forward to the new season and hope to integrate into the team as soon as possible and dedicate myself to training and matches with my new teammates."
