Marco Silva believes the team's overall performance was satisfactory and that the victory was well-deserved.

Marco Silva was pleased with Fulham's season-ending performance at Craven Cottage, but also regretted missing out on goals they could have achieved. The team finished the 2025/26 season relatively positively after their final win, but only managed a point against Bournemouth and Wolves, prematurely ending their European hopes.

The head coach stated, "We discussed these setbacks earlier this week, but they shouldn't affect our motivation to win. That's why the players have continued to train hard this week to prepare for facing strong opponents."

"We won the game, and we deserved it. The first half was fairly even, but we had more control of the game in the second half. Even if we didn't have more possession, we still dominated the game. Looking at the shots, we often get more than 20 shots in many games, and today was no exception."

“When we took a 2-0 lead, we could have extended it further, but we needed to be calmer and more efficient in handling our chances. In this league, this often determines the outcome; you have to be ruthless and efficient in high-level competition.”

Marco Silva, speaking about the difference in squad depth against his opponents, said: "When I saw their substitutes come on, they were all players worth 60 or 70 million euros. Sometimes that's just the difference in quality on paper. Today was crucial. We had to give back to the fans and let them leave the season with good feelings, which is why we gave it our all. And the fans certainly enjoyed the game."

"Overall, it was a positive performance, and the victory was well-deserved. We have been very solid at home this season, but our away record is noticeably different, which is the first time this has happened in the last four seasons. In some key games, we could have gained more points, but we failed to capitalize on them. The Premier League is a league where details matter."

“We are currently only two or three points away from the European qualification zone. Looking back at the home games over the past month and a half, we had many key opportunities, but failed to convert them into points. The team once took control of its own destiny, but ultimately failed to achieve its goal. The feeling is complicated, but I prefer to evaluate it from an overall perspective rather than just looking at individual stages.”
