Bournemouth player Adam Smith said qualifying for the Europa League was like a dream come true, and he was overjoyed.

Adam Smith said after helping Bournemouth secure Europa League qualification that it was a dream come true. The team had an outstanding season, not only achieving their best-ever Premier League finish of sixth place, but also finishing the season unbeaten in 18 games.

In an away game against Nottingham Forest, 35-year-old Adam Smith made his 425th appearance for the club. He captained the team to a 1-1 draw, sealing a memorable season.

After the final whistle blew at the City Stadium, Adam Smith said: "I am very excited, but also a little disappointed because the results of the other matches were not as we hoped. It would be even more incredible to get a Champions League spot, but we can't ask for too much."

"To finish sixth in the Premier League, go 18 games unbeaten, and qualify for the Europa League is a huge achievement in itself. Back when we were relegated and in the Championship, almost no one would have predicted that we would be back in European competitions in 2026. This is a dream come true for the club."

"We always manage to find a way to solve problems, thanks to the leadership of the head coach and the entire coaching team. Although our performance in the first half was not ideal, we clearly improved in the second half. This transformation reflects the mindset that the coaching staff has instilled in us over a long period of time. Such a never-give-up spirit is truly admirable."

"The reason we give everything to play football is for moments like this. The intense training throughout the season, plus the recovery and preparation on Sundays, is all for this moment. When I look back after I retire, I will probably appreciate the preciousness of this time even more. This experience is irreplaceable."
