With the 2026 World Cup fast approaching, teams are already actively training. Brazil coach Carlo Ancelotti stated that Neymar's recovery is progressing well, and he will not rush the star player back from injury.
Neymar, 34, joined Santos in the Brazilian Serie A in January last year, but has missed many games due to injuries.
Besides Neymar, other forwards called up to the Brazilian national team include Vinicius, Martinelli, Rafinha, and Cunha.
When asked about Neymar's recovery progress, Brazilian coach Carlo Ancelotti said, "His recovery is going very well, everything is progressing smoothly, and we are not in a hurry."
In an earlier friendly match, Brazil defeated Panama 6-2 after goals from Vinicius, Casemiro, Layan, Paqueta, Igor Thiago and Danilo Santos.
Ancelotti continued, "We want to compete with all our opponents, do our best and give it our all, and everyone knows what expectations are placed on the Brazilian team."
"Everyone knows there are no absolute favorites to win the title. There are certainly some very strong teams, but I believe Brazil is capable of competing with any team."
In addition, Brazil will face Egypt in their next friendly match before embarking on their World Cup journey.
Brazilian midfielder Casemiro said in an interview, "Expectations are very high, and it will be a difficult task, but we are full of anticipation and eager to win. It's hard to talk about who the favorites are to win the World Cup. We will be a strong team, but there are other teams that are further ahead of us and have mature and stable systems."
"Ancelotti has been coaching the team for just over a year, or even only about 40 days to be precise. In comparison, some national teams have come much further in this process. But we will still come to the World Cup in a strong manner because that ambition and the dream we have had since childhood will always exist in our hearts."
